Marie Lodén är legitimerad apotekare med fördjupningskurs inom toxikologi. Marie har disputerat och är också docent i experimentell dermatologi vid Uppsala universitet.  År 2009 startade Marie Lodén företaget Eviderm Institute AB som hon sedan dess äger och utvecklar.

Marie Lodén har jobbat med frågor som rör huden i 40 år. Först vid Försvarets Forskningsanstalt i Umeå under 5 år, sedan vid dåvarande Kabi Vitrum under nästan 2 år och sedan 22 år på ACO; vid ACO Läkemedel, ACO Hud och ACO Hud Nordic. Marie var Forsknings-, Utvecklings- och Kvalitetschef vid ACO och ingick i företagets ledningsgrupp. Hon har genomgått den 1-åriga utbildningen (10v) i Integrerat Ledarskap vid Handelshögskolan.

Under hennes tid vid ACO femfaldigats omsättningen och flera hundra nya produkter lanserades. Merparten av produkterna var kosmetika men även hudläkemedel, medicintekniska produkter och biocider. Marie Lodén har också varit utsedd av Läkemedelsverket som sakkunnig (QP, Qualified Person) för partihandelsverksamhet.

Marie Lodén har varit ansvarig för dokumentation och utveckling av läkemedelsprodukter och författat flera kliniska expertrapporter (Clinical Overviews) för 8 olika läkemedelssubstanser som blivit godkända av Läkemedelsverket för utvärtes behandling (lösning, gel, kräm, emulsion).  

I tillägg till dessa kliniska expertrapporter har Marie säkerhetsbedömt ett utvärtes läkemedel baserat på vetenskaplig dokumentation i bibliografisk ansökan (Non Clinical Overview), samt utrett nedbrytningsprodukter av läkemedel och kvalificerat innehållet av dessa. Marie har också utvecklat nya medicintekniska produkter (kategori IIa), effekt- och säkerhetsbedömt med godkänt resultat. Förutom dessa toxikologiska rapporter har hon säkerhetsbedömt minst kanske 1000 kosmetiska produkter enligt gällande kosmetikförordning, samt gjort avancerade toxikologiska litteraturgenomgångar av andra kemiska produkter som används på människor.

Marie Lodén är aktiv inom forskningen och har publicerat mer än 50 originalartiklar i refereegranskade tidskrifter, 40 översiktsartiklar samt några patent och patentansökningar, se nedan. Nedan finns också certifikat och universitetsdokument som visar hennes akademiska kvalifikationer.

Marie är ofta anlitat som referee av olika internationella tidskrifter och har också varit med i flera betygsnämnder för olika doktorsavhandlingar. Hennes forskningsintresse är fokuserat på hudens barriärfunktion och känslighet för eksem. Dessutom har hon varit redaktör för de internationella böckerna Treatment of dry skin syndrom; The art and science of moisturizers samt "Dry Skin and Moisturizers; Chemistry and Function" tillsammans med Howard Maibach. Marie har också skrivit den svenska boken om "Ren, Mjuk och Vacker; Kemi och Funktion hos Kosmetika" som givits ut i tre upplagor av Apotekarsocieteten. Den senaste 4:e upplagan lanseras 2021.

Dr. Marie Lodén was appointed Associate Professor in Experimental Dermatology at Uppsala University in 2005 and is the founder and owner of the Eviderm Institute, Sweden, which is devoted to dermatological research and product development. Dr. Lodén previously conducted dermatological research on chemical warfare agents and worked on the development of topical treatments at pharmaceutical and cosmetics companies. Her major research interests are skin barrier function, contact dermatitis, skin care, biophysical measurements, and toxicology. She has edited previous books and published almost 100 original papers and reviews.
